FIxed an issue with current versions of the Nvidia Vulkan developer driver not using its on-disk shader cache with DXVK.Implemented non-seamless cube maps for D3D9 using the VK_EXT_non_seamless_cube_map extension if supported by the driver.I suspect that we will be finally able to run the HD client on macOS as well as get a more stable app. Hopefully Wargaming will approve the 64-bit version of the WoT Mac Wrapper. Also since you are running MS Windows you can submit Support Tickets with both Wargaming and any Mod developer. Running MS Windows on your Apple-branded hardware requires far less time and effort than building Wine just to get something that is not in/supported by the WoT Mac Wrapper. All of this just to run the HD client or install third-party apps is not worth my time and effort. Using Wine requires quite a bit of work - making sure you install all of the right implementations as well as possibly having to install 32-bit Wine and 64-bit Wine. Because they are the same thing, just the official one is "optimized" for the game. But wine will always be slower and buggier than a working copy of the official wrapper. Because it's so stripped down and customized sometimes an update to the game will break something in it, and because wine isn't as stripped down it doesn't break for wine. In my experience, if the WoT wrapper works, then wine will work worse, the only time wine and things like play on Mac will be better is if the Official Mac wrapper doesn't work at all. The official Mac wrapper from war gaming (and developed by codeweavers) is a highly polished wine wrapper that has had all the non essentials thrown away and is completely tweaked to be 100% geared towards WoT. If you choose "not on list" and create a generic wrapper it's really no different than just installing wine on your computer from wineHQ and installing WoT. Anyways, it's highly customizable and play on Mac is a generic program that will create a wine wrapper for you that is tweaked to run whatever program your choosing better. I think wine stands for "Windows in Native Environment" or something like that. Running MS Windows IMHO is the quickest and easiest way to accomplish your goal of running WoT Tweaks.īoth play on Mac and the official WoT ma wrapper are both variants of wine. crashes to desktop, crappy graphics, etc. Only cost me about USD 40 to get an Activation Code.Īlso I am experiencing none of the issues that seem to plague the Forums - e.g. I do this so I can play on the Common Test Server on my MacBook Pro and iMac. If you dead-set on running the WoT Tweaker - why not just install MS Windows using Boot Camp and run natively? The WoT Mac Wrapper runs at a higher FPS than the native game in MS Windows over my WiFi connection. The number of individuals running Linux, Wine and World Of Tanks is significantly larger than the number running macOS, Wine and World of Tanks and you should get better support/guidance. If you are dead-set on running the WoT Tweaker then I recommend that you install Linux and then World of Tanks using Wine. Getting World of Tanks running using Wine on macOS is not for the faint of heart.Īs for PlayonMac - I tried - it did not work well - went back to the WoT Mac Wrapper. If using Wine I recommend that you review the WineHQ webpage dedicated to World of Tanks. (The Macwrapper does not allow this.) May I check if anybody has tried running Wot on Wine or Playonmac? May I ask how did you set up Wot using Wine, and also, how was the game performance? Thanks for any help! Hi guys so I have decided to try experimenting with running WoT on Wine or PlayonMac, to see if I can get better performance and also to see if I can install external apps such as Wot Tweaker on it.
